7/20/08 Hi everyone! Lilly Lou
here checking in! I’ve been with AABR for 6 months now and I’ve come so far.
I didn’t know much when I came to AABR, but that has certainly changed. I
love to learn and I’ve learned a lot!!! I can sit, lie down, stay, come,
heel, back, drop, find, leave it, and the list goes on. In addition to all
that, I am a great agility dog. I’ve only had a few introductory tutorials,
but everyone tells me I’m a natural. This weekend I was doing mini courses
with standard jumps, a tunnel, and a broad jump. I was a Rock Star. I had
never done the tunnel or broad jump before, but I learned both in just a few
moments. If there is anyone out there locking for their next Agility dog,
I’m your girl! My ideal home will continue my training. I love physical
exercise, but mental exercise is also so much fun. I’m the happiest when I
get to combine the two in sports like agility, fly ball, etc. I’d also be
great for Rally-O and would be benefited by doing some standard obedience. I
would prefer a home where someone is home a good portion of the day and
where there is a clear daily routine. I’d also like a home without children.
While I love the adults I’m introduced to, I find children intimidating and
will need a dedicated, calm, and patient individual to help me continue to
gain confidence around them and perhaps one day learn how to interact with
them appropriately. If you’re ready for an active, intelligent, and loving
companion, please consider me. My foster parents say I’m a very special
girl.

Update - Lily is a lady
on the go. She is 2 years old, and she's ALL puppy. Not only is she a bundle
of energy but she is seeing much of the world for the first time. Lily is
learning all sorts of new exciting things in her foster home. Lily is
learning what it means to be a part of a pack, she's learning how to
interact with the outside world, and she's learning how to be a respectful
member of both the pack and society.
Lily is a quick study and she is becoming more confident and stable
everyday. Lily loves to play. She is delighted to remove every toy from the
basket and then take the time to play with each one before settling down for
a quick nap. Lily also loves her walks and jogs. She's a bottomless pool of
energy and she just keeps going and going. Lily's ideal home will have
plenty of time and energy to dedicate to her exercise needs. Lily is a true
athlete and would be a wonderful working dog. With her intelligence and
athletic ability, she'd make a wonderful agility dog.
Lily is a social butterfly and would like to find a family that can spend
a great deal of time with her. She loves both human and canine
companionship. Lily would really love a family with another stable,
submissive canine companion. In her foster home, Lily is living with two
cats and another male boxer. Lily is learning to be respectful of the cats,
but so badly wants them to play. However, with a few swats to the nose from
our feline friends she's learning how to interact with them appropriately.
If you have the time, energy, and love to dedicate to sweet Lily, please
consider making her a member of your pack. She will repay you with
unwavering love.

- Lily Lou
Intake Reason - Lily's owners surrendered her because they were having
their second child and did not have the time to dedicate to her excercise
and socialization needs.
Lilly Lou is looking for a new home after her former
owner's did not want her! Why? Because they said she was too
high energy. Well, she is in safe hands now. We will find Lilly Lou a home
that will appreciate her typical Boxer energy and playfulness. Lilly is a 2
year old spayed girl and is ready for her new home. She is not fond of the
crate so we are looking for a home that will be home more and is willing to
give her the exercise she needs. After all, a tired Boxer is a good Boxer!
Lilly can he placed with kids over 10 and would like another submissive
dog. She is housebroken and lived with another male Boxer! Please offer to
foster or adopt Lilly so that she can get out of the kennel as soon as
possible |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
