Donovan is still in his foster home through Camp Papillon Rescue, but is ready for a home of his own.  Donovan was originally placed by AABR in 2008, but his family returned him in February due to a new baby in the home.  Donovan is great with children, cats, and other dogs.  If you can provide a forever home for this wonderful boy, apply today for Donovan!

Donovan is now being adopted through Camp Papillon Pet Adoption & Rescue.

Donovan is doing well where he is being kenneled, but would greatly benefit from being in a home where he can receive more attention and training. He is a smart boy and knows basic commands. Donovan was introduced to a female dog and did really well. He mostly wanted to play, but is a little dominant. He is energetic and needs a fenced in yard. Donovan loves to play, play, play. Please consider fostering or adopting Donovan today!

Donovan's home could not wait for AABR to find a place for him, so they decided to dump him at the local kill shelter. AABR contacted the shelter right away and got him out the very next day. The problem now is that Donovan sits all alone in a kennel. He is very stressed out and just cries and howls all day and night. Won't you give Donovan a place to rest his head as either a foster or adoptive home? Please apply for Donovan today!

Donovan, now known as Tucker, is a boxer mix who is being returned to rescue after five years in his home. The family is having another baby and just can't give Donovan the time and attention he deserves. Donovan is living with a 2 year old autistic child. We will post more information soon. We need to make Donovan's next home his forever home. Will you be the lucky one?

Update - Donovan is a wonderful, spirited, puppy. He just loves his walks, and listens really well on leash. I taught him how to "heel" and "sit" just on the first visit. He's a little guy with silky white fur and blotches of brown on his face.

He's so willing to please and seems to want to do everything right. He runs on the small side and does not pull on lead. He has a lot of energy and who can blame him, he's still a puppy!

This little guy will brighten your day and warm your heart as he is very affectionate. He is a real love bug!

Here are more pictures that give you a better sense of this guy's playful personality.

Donovan has been cat tested and doesn't seem to mind them.

This is Donovan. He is a sweet boy looking for a committed forever home. Sight unseen, we were told Donovan was a Boxer but you and I know he is part some other wonderful breed too. The only alternative was to send him back to the shelter where his fate would be sealed and that was NOT an option. He deserves a chance to live, play romp and live play and romp some more!! He has many of the typical Boxer traits.

Donovan is presently in a kennel where the staff reports that he is a doll. He is sweet, playful and loving. We are in dire need of a foster home for Donovan so that we can learn as much about him as we can so that he can find his forever home. Please offer to foster his lovebug to he can find his forever home!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
