Moe is a great boy.  He enjoys walks but due to his bad leg we only walk about a mile. He loves to play in the back yard with toys and other dogs. His bad leg was X-rayed by a Vet and I was told that he has arthritis in the joints so will need daily pain medication. Right now, one buffered aspirin works wells. He has a limp and it will not change since his front leg is held together by a rod and pins. Moe was obviously cared for in the past, as it was an expensive surgery.

Moe is a wonderful boy who listens very well. He spends a lot of time with my parents and their boxer. He does well with kids and I also think it would benefit him if he was adopt to someone with a back yard since he loves goofing around with toys outside. Another one of Moe's favorite activities is taking car rides. Moe is very sweet too. He loves to cuddle and give boxers kisses.

Moe continues to do well. I have learned some more about his personality and changed his profile to children over 10. We've spent time with my sister's kids and found that he gets too excited with very little kids.  He LOVES kids and just gets overly excited when they are playing. I would also like to see Moe placed with a home that has another dog and a yard. He loves to play and run around. He is submissive and very easy going with other dogs. Again, he loves car rides, long walks, cuddling on the sofa and playing (anything). He listens well and is continuing to learn more commands like heel and drop it. Moe is active so he will need a fairly active family that will play with him and walk him daily.

Moe is the happiest boxer that I have ever met. He is extremely easy going and can entertain himself easily. After his last vet exam I learned that he previously fractured his leg and the X-rays show that wires and screws are holding it together. This doesn't stop him from being active but he does limp sometimes. He loves walks and playing fetch.  Moe is one perfect dog: good in the car, good with other animals and all people that we meet. He is housebroken (but prefers to do his business on cement...  we know he was a city dog). He listens well and walks nicely on a leash. He loves life and is content to play or cuddle whichever you prefer.

2/13/08 -

This sweet boy came from a shelter in Brooklyn New York. The shelter staff named him Moe.

He is very playful and loves toys. He is great with other dogs and cats. He seems fine with kids.  Has been around a 3, 6 and 7 year old so far, but because he is a stray, he won't go to a family with young kids. He listens very well, knows sit and come.

On Tuesday he gets his thorough med exam with the vet.  He limps on his left front leg and there is an old surgery scar. This indicates that he came from a home that cared for him and provided him with needed surgery.  His limp doesn’t stop him in any way (just slows him down a bit). He just recovered from kennel cough and needs to gain weight which won’t be a problem since he is a good eater.

Please consider this great guy for your forever home.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
