07/08/08 Ella
has been in her foster home for 2 weeks now. She is a sweet girl and very
eager to please. I asked my hubby to ignore her her for a week to allow her
space and let her come around on her own. She now jumps in bed in the a.m.
and lays between us. She is still a little shy but once she realizes your
gentle and just want to love her she responds. Ella desperately wants to be
loved, and her willingness to please has proven that. She is very obedient,
you only have to tell her once what you want and she won't hesitate to
comply. She knows sit, stay, come, and paw. I also taught her down, which
she caught on to in 3 1/2 minutes. She is a smart girl.
Ella loves walks and doesn't pull on the leash. She gets along with both
my males and loves children. However, she is not crazy about cats, so a home
with no cats please. She has learned to wait her turn at feeding time,
rather then the barge right in which she use to do when she first came.
She's # 3 when it's time to chow down and waits till I call her name. I am
so proud of her and what she has accomplished in such a short time. It's
amazing!
Ella will only go to a calm and patient home, one that will love her,
show her gentle leadership and allow her to grow with no pressure. This girl
is very special to us , so her new family will have to prove how special
they are. In return Ella will smother you with boxer kisses & wiggles of
excitement.

Update - Ella is being returned to rescue after 2.5 years in her home.
Her previous owner reports that Ella is very timid around men. She lived
with four children, ranging in age from 9 to 20 and Ella usually slept with
the young girl at night. Ella also lived with a two year old male boxer and
several birds.
Ella is crate trained, but she needs to go out frequently. She loves
children and is much more outgoing with them.
Ella is very scared in the kennel - we are in urgent need of a foster or
forever home for her. Apply today if you can provide a quiet and patient
home for this sweet girl!
