11/11/10 - MEMORIAL
Bacchus lost his battle with Lymphoma on 11/9/10. He is another of the
many boxers to succumb to that terrible disease…….
Bacchy came to our family 2 short years ago.
He was fostered by Pam and Ken Rowlands, where he held a very special place
in Pam’s heart. He was a small boy with a cute face, a beautifully marked
brindle coat, a full tail and the most gorgeous light brown eyes.
He was really glad to have a large fenced in
yard and a sister, Fancy, to run with. They would bullet run laps every day
and play for hours. He was shocked to find he could not walk on water; he
fell into our fish pond only 1 time. He was very smart and he figured things
out quickly, and then he did not make that mistake again. He loved tugging
games with Brian and cuddling on the couch.
We live on a heavily traveled road. Starting
from the 1st day he would run to the fence every time he heard a
motorcycle coming, he would bark and wag his tail, when it passed without
stopping he would drop his shoulders and walk back to the patio. He
certainly never forgot the person he loved that rode a motorcycle….. The
people he made connections with were very strong.
Bacchy developed a very close relationship
with Carol. She was able to help him overcome many of his fears and
anxieties. They loved to take walks, go to the park, play hide and seek, and
take naps on the couch. She was his foundation and his strongest supporter.
Rest in peace Little Man……you will be missed…

- Bacchus
Bacchus is a young male brindle boxer boy. He was removed from a home in
NY for abuse. They were intentionally starving him and the cruelty
officers removed him from the home. He was in a shelter for a long time.
They were so full they asked us to please help get him a patient home
through our rescue. He is now boarded at our kennel in PA as we have no
fosters with summer vacations upon us. He is with 8 other boxers in the
same yard. We will post more info as we learn it. Bacchus is shy at first
but very sweet once he knows you wont hurt him. Kids over 8 would be best.
