Brandy hasn't had an update for awhile because there really wasn't anything new with our girl. We all love her, and although she isn't a full bred boxer...she has won our hearts because she is so sweet. The one thing she had going against her was her dislike of other dogs. She just couldn't be bothered with them - she just did her own thing and was happy. I guess, since she's getting older, she decided to turn over a new leaf and give another dog a chance. Today, that's just what she did. She accepted Moochie into the play yard with her. Although they didn't race around like pups, they did some courteous sniffing and just in general enjoyed each other's company...kind of like an old married couple -don't have a lot to say, but like being around each other.

Maybe you have a soft spot in your heart, as we do, for an adult dog, with an attitude of her own. She does love people and loves to play ball. You won't regret it, and there will be lots of tears when she finds her forever home.

Brandy is still at the kennel waiting for a foster or forever home. It is no fault of her own that she was discarded. She is by far one of the sweetest dogs. Brandy loves humans, she loves her ball, and she loves to play and go for long walks - she is the perfect companion! Brandy prefers to be alone - she should go to a home without other dogs or cats.  Brandy is getting very depressed from being at the kennel for so long. Please help her light shine once again as she has been waiting almost 2 years for someone to come and rescue her!

Rescue me not only with your hands but with your heart as well.
I will respond to you.

Rescue me not out of pity but out of love.
I will love you back.

Rescue me not with self-righteousness but with compassion.
I will learn what you teach.

Rescue me not because of my past but because of my future.
I will relax and enjoy.

Rescue me not simply to save me but to give me a new life.
I will appreciate your gift.

Rescue me not only with a firm hand but with tolerance and patience.
I will please you.

Rescue me not only because of who I am but who I'm to become.
I will grow and mature.

Rescue me not to revere yourself to others but because you want me.
I will never let you down.

Rescue me not with a hidden agenda but with a desire to teach me to trust.
I will be loyal and true.

Rescue me not to be chained or to fight but to be your companion.
I will stand by your side.

Rescue me not to replace one you've lost but to soothe your spirit.
I will cherish you.

Rescue me not to be your pet but to be your friend.
I will give you unconditional love
.

Message from gail:

Here's a clip of Brandy playing with her indestructible Jolly Ball...note large hole in ball, but she has fun with it.

She's a great dog with lots of energy, would love a home where she could run every morning with a friend. She's very loving and soaks up affection like a sponge. She's a doll.

Brandy is a great dog and will add a lot of fun to the lucky one who gives her a chance... Watch her play!

Our Brandy girl is waits patiently for you. The one that will rescue our girl and give her a happy life. Brandy does not ask for much. She is a smart girl who loves people. She loves to play ball, fetch or simply go for a leisurely walk. She loves to run in the play yard with the largest ball she can find in her mouth. Brandy will bring it to you and "Leave It!" She knows sit, stay, paw, she is smart and a very quick learner. Brandy's only request is she be the only dog. She fine walking past them she doesn't want to live or play with them; she prefers humans! Won't you please consider meeting Brandy? She knows you will love her and she promises to love you.

Update - I sit, I sit and wait every day for a happier life. I know it is out there. I watch, I watch my boxer friends come and go as I wait for a happier life. I am Brandy please don't fault me because I am a mix. I have the same heart and soul as my boxer friends. I want a happy ever after just like they do. I want to share my life with humans not canines or felines just humans. If you are looking for a forever friend and you can look at my soul then I am the gal for you. I will run with you, walk with you, play with you, LOVE YOU! Please give me a chance.

7/06/08 - Brandy

This is Brandy she is a terrier/boxer mix from the big apple estimated to be around three years old. She is sweet and no one was claiming her so the shelter contacted AABR and asked if we could help. How do you turn her away? If we said NO Brandy would have been put down.

Brandy is a fun, fun girl. She likes everyone she meets. She needs a low key boy or be a solo dog. Brandy is the bully breed and requires plenty of physical and mental exercise. Another great choice for the physically fit that is looking for a running partner. Won't you consider adopting or fostering this great girl today?

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
