LOST since 06/27/10 - AABR BOXER - ROCHESTER NEW YORK - Mugsy

07/01/10 -

Mugsy was found and returned to his

home at 2 am this morning!

06/30/10 - Update - There was a possible citing reported at the intersection of Mt. Read and Maiden Lane, but an intensive search of that area didn't come up with Mugsy... : (

Please... If you can help... Mugsy needs us. He is a bit timid so loud noises and a lot of yelling probably won't bring Mugsy out of hiding.  Speak softy, and look behind and under things.  We found a boxer once, after ten days of looking!!!!  She was found under a dumpster!!!!

There is a $500 reward for finding Mugsy!!!! Maybe a boy or girl scout troop, or some other organization, could benefit from the reward!!!!!

$500 Reward for finding Mugsy!!!!!

06/27/10 - Mugsy has only been in his new home since Friday evening, and got out of a gate that was thought to be closed.  He belongs at 124 Brick Landing Rochester NY, and was last seen about an hour ago ( 7PM 06/27/10) at the corner of Dove Tree and Mill Road.

Mugsy is more apt to run away than run towards a person calling his name.  If you spot him, please call his new mom at 585.414.2282.

Mugsy has his AABR Tag on with our toll free number 877 570 0360.

PLEASE, PLEASE, READ:  WE HAVE HAD TOO MANY DOGS GET LOST OVER THE PAST YEAR!!!! YES... IN EACH CASE, WITH THE HELP OF MANY DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS AND HOURS OF LOOKING, WE HAVE FOUND ALL THE DOGS... BUT:

WHETHER BRINGING HOME A BOXER FROM ADOPT A BOXER RESCUE, TO FOSTER OR ADOPT, OR FROM ANY OTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION, PLEASE KNOW THAT IT TAKES SOME TIME FOR THE ANIMAL TO GET COMFORTABLE AND BELIEVE THAT YOUR HOME IS IT'S FOREVER HOME.  ANY AND ALL OPEN HOME DOORS, GATES, CAR DOORS, LOW FENCES, OR TOO LOOSE COLLARS, MAY BE LOOKED AT AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO "GO BACK HOME" TO THE DOG.  THAT MAY MEAN HIS "LAST KNOWN HOME"... NOT THAT HE OR SHE WON'T GROW TO LOVE YOU... THEY WILL... BUT YOU MUST TAKE SPECIAL CARE TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER.  PLEASE, FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS, KEEP A LEASH OR SMALL ROPE ATTACHED TO YOUR DOG'S FLAT ID COLLAR, (NOT ATTACHED TO A SLIP COLLAR, BECAUSE THAT COULD GET CAUGHT AND BE DANGEROUS).  BE SURE THAT YOUR NEW DOG COMES TO THEIR NAME, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE IT.  AND ALWAYS DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK THAT DOORS AND GATES ARE CLOSED.

AND IF YOU ARE IN THE ROCHESTER AREA, PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HELP FIND MUGSY!!!!!!!

6/2/10

I have been in my foster home for over 2 months with no interested homes in me and I do not understand why. I am a handsome young boxer boy and I am waiting patiently for my very own forever home--I know they are out there! My foster mom says I am a very smart and sweet boy and not your typical high energy boxer. I like to go for walks, play in the yard, or just lounge in the house. I get along very well with my foster brothers and sisters and even the resident bird. Please apply to adopt me today!!

4/8/10

Mugsy is a very sweet boy. He was very timid and head shy when he first went into his foster home, but he is slowly coming out of his shell. His foster mom said he is a very handsome low key young boxer male. He gets along well with the other dogs in the home and loves to play and cuddle with them. He is a very smart boy and is learning his basic commands very quickly. Mugsy would benefit from another dog in his new home to help increase his confidence. Please apply for Mugsy today!

3/23/10 -

Mugsy was found as a stray and is estimated to be around 2 years old. He is very thin and looks like he was probably kept chained outside because his ears are badly fly bitten and his neck is red with hair loss where his collar or choke chain was.

Mugsy is reported to be good with other dogs and very friendly with people. He will be going to a foster home soon, and we will update his page once we know more about him. Thank you for your interest in Mugsy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
