Uma
With great sadness we have to tell you that Uma has passed away.  Uma was a special little lady who touched everyone she came into contact with.  She is an angel now and will be sadly missed.

We want to thank Uma's foster family and all our foster families who go above and beyond to help these magnificent animals.  Volunteers are the hearts and minds of AABR.

Re: Uma

I am so sad to tell you Uma passed away this morning about 5:30.  We were going to take her to the vet today and have her put down, but she died in our arms this morning.  She was such a sweet dog and I am so angry that she had this condition and died so young.

Take care,

Ellen

Spotlight on:   Uma - Medical Hold

08/09/06 -Uma's nose bleeds have stopped, but she is still a very sick girl.  A decision has been made to keep Uma in her foster home.

In the mean time, her medical bills are estimated to be at least $3000 so far.  We could use your help.

07/12/06 - This little girl is not feeling well.

We have transferred her to Cornell from a Rochester referral hospital, and will be worked up by two Board Certified Veterinarians to see why she is having nose bleeds.

She is in the best of hands and AABR will keep you updated as soon as we learn more.

In the mean time, her medical bills are estimated to be at least $3000 so far.  We could use your help.

05/27/06 - In foster now

They don't want to sit still for me - every time I walk into the room with the camera all they want to do is come up to me and kiss me!

Their fur is coming back nicely, almost all of the red, irritated skin is back to pink or white. They are steadily gaining weight and are doing well.

4/30/06 - Uma

This is Uma.  She was found as a stray and needs to gain weight.  She is a sweet loving boxer who wants all the attention she can get. She has the great Boxer wiggle and is freely giving kisses!  In a temporary foster home while she waited to be transported to PA she was with cats who she allowed to eat out of her food bowl.  She did not mind them a bit. Please open your heart and home to Uma and give her a chance to find her forever home.  We will post more when we learn about this sweetheart. Uma was found with possibly her brother Riley
