5/26/10 - HAPPY BEGINNINGS!
In March 2007, we lost our beautiful boxer boy,
Tyson, to heart failure at almost 11 years old. Both my husband and I
were devastated and it didn't take too long to realize we needed another
boxer. We have never had a girl before and looked on the Adopt a Boxer
Rescue website, and saw this picture of Sunflower. We loved her
picture and emailed the rescue. On May 5, 2007, we drove to Lancaster
to visit Sunny to see if there was the "connection." As soon as we met
Sunny, we knew she was the girl for us. She was so cute, friendly, and
full of the boxer wiggles.
Sunflower settled into our home nicely, and is such a sweetheart.
Sunny is a fan of going out on the boat (but not the water itself!).
She loves going on car rides and being outside. She was such an
energetic girl and after a few months, we decided that Sunny needed a
brother (experience told us that Sunny wouldn't do well with another
female). We were looking for a laid back boy who could balance her
craziness. So I contacted Jen at the rescue, who mentioned a boy named
Otis that had just come in and needed a forever home.
In August 2007, Otis came to
his new forever home. Then, in February 2008,
we fostered a 5 month old white deaf boy that we named
Petey. We
adopted him in March 2008.
All of our adoptive kids are great, and we wouldn't trade them for
anything. They are truly a part of the family and we couldn't imagine
life with them.

4/26/07 - Sunflower
Sunflower is a sweet little girl who rolled over on her back for a belly rub
the first time I met her. Sunflower was found as a stray so there is not a
lot of information on her. Please offer to foster Sunflower so she has the
chance to find the forever home she deserves. She is waiting patiently in a
kennel for you to call and say you will foster her! |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
