Update!!!!
09/09/08 - Roxy was
found because of her MICROCHIP!!!!
Within about 15 mins of Roxy getting away, a
wonderful person found her and took her to safety. Seeing she was a
well cared for boxer, he then had her checked for a microchip, and
registered her as a "Found" dog, and contacted the vet's office that
issued the chip. A friend of our adoptive home called her vet, and
her vet also referred her to Home Again, the microchip manufacturer.
When she called Home Again, Roxy's ID came up as "Found"!
Did you know that aside from
shelters, a lot of Pet Supply stores and vets will check a found dog for
microchipping? This is a very important piece of information to
spread around to everyone you know!

Roxy got out of her harness and ran, without ID
tags on.
Last seen on Greenway South Forest Hill, Queen, NY last night.

- Roxy
Let me tell you about this little girl named Roxy, She
melts your heart... Of all the boxers that I've enjoyed fostering, Roxy is
the most well behaved, and completely house broken boxer ever....... she
plays with her toys and Duke, loves stuffed animals to throw, but never
destroys, she loves to fetch a tennis ball, loyally walks by your side and
when she is on a leash there is no pulling, Roxy is very smart, she knows
how to sit, come, speak.
Due to a severe ear infection, which now has lead to her eyes, her left
eye is swollen shut at times, but her paws are healing. She lets me do
all her treatments, she is a trooper. She is a lady and although my boxer
likes to lay all over the furniture, unless I pick her up and put her there,
she prefers the floor... although for bedtime, she does like to sleep in a
little corner at the bottom of the bed.
Her markings are very beautiful... she is fawn with a predominately white
mask, and she has a white looking unicorn and where the fawn meets the white
it forms a little heart, it is really cute. Oh and SHE SMILES... look at
the pictures closely you'll see.
She has been receiving the special dog food and i was able to introduce
other doggie treats and food, she is doing well, and the vet does not feel
that she has a food allergy at all, it seems that her original ear infection
which was not treated back in November escalated into a full blown infection
effecting the eyes and paws. |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
